Q My mother died recently, she was in her 80’s and I attended her funeral in America. I was expecting her death, and thought I would feel relief at her passing. I was never close to her and always thought she was crazy, I had a childhood that I would not wish on anyone. After my dad left – I was nine – my mother was always bitter, negative and complaining. This continued throughout my adult life. Yet now I am back from her funeral, I feel overwhelmed with grief and find I am weeping often. I don’t miss her, yet I am always sad. Is this normal? And will it pass?
