Consider the signs of emotional health:
To be emotionally healthy is to be able to manage the impact of another’s behaviour toward you by recognizing the emotion displayed in the other person and not allowing that emotion to affect you negatively; applying behaviour you want to be. If you are emotionally healthy you will have developed ways of dealing with and overcoming anger, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, loneliness, grief and the impact difficult people have on your life.
Emotional health is a state where you are in control of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You feel good about yourself and your relationships and are able to deal with problems in a positive way. Emotionally healthy people can still be emotionally constipated, but they have learned of ways to cope with adrenalin arousals (stress) and know when to seek help from their doctor or counsellor.
