Passive Aggressive Personality

All of us resent being told what to do or having certain people make requests or demands of us. We hate the feeling of being controlled. Either we just don’t want to do it at that particular time or we see the demand as unimportant.

Yet we may fear the other person’s subsequent anger or withdrawal if we do not comply, and so we do it. And so we cooperate (no doubt reluctantly), or perhaps negotiate, and get agreement that we will do something later when it suits us better. Or we assert ourselves and say no.
