The Johari window is a cognitive psychological tool created by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham in 1955 in the United States, used to help people develop emotional awareness and better understand their interpersonal communication and relationships.
In this model, each person is represented by their own window. Note that the model can reveal difficulties in the are of communication, as while two people may try and communicate using the open/free window, they may differ in terms of how they perceive the communication model. Nevertheless, the model is excellent for learning how to change behavior.
