Communication Model


Whenever there is communication between two people, one person is the sender of the message and one person is the receiver.

The sender first has to encode a message, then send the message – usually in words. At this point they also use non-verbal communication. The receiver picks up both the verbal and non-verbal components of the message and decodes them. There are three areas where interference of the communication process can occur, often resulting in an inaccurate decoding of the message. These are illustrated in figure below:
