The Change Process Test

The Ten Stages of Change Process follows what many people experience when they suffer a loss of any kind. For example: loss of a loved one through death, loss of a job, an incapacity through mental illness, physical harm or injury, the onset of old age, loss of regular contact with family and friends through relocation, and children leaving the family home. Sometimes, the change or loss may be something unexpected. For example, a house destroyed in a cyclone. Or something planned and looked forward to. For example, starting a new job.

Change may come as a shock and be totally unexpected. Change may be planned for in advance. When the reality of change sets in, people experience the stages within the change process to varying degrees. If you spend too much time in any one of the stages it may be a sign of “dis-ease”, in which case you should seek professional help from your doctor or mental health counselor.

Have a look at the images below and see if you can identify the 10 stages that a person is likely to go through when they experience a change in their life.
