The Angry Personality

1. The function of anger

The sole function of anger is to stop stress, to stop pain. Anger starts with an internal or external event and is the subjective experience of physiological arousal (stress response) to negative appraisal of the event. The angry personality has the thought that someone else is responsible for their bad feelings and core belief that the other person is bad, wrong, and deserving of punishment. Angry people blame others for what happens to them and believe others should know how to act correctly but who out of stupidity or selfishness have broken the rules of reasonable conduct.
